“Figure, Trees and Buildings, Sallèles-d’Aude, France” is based on a photo I took during a painting trip to the south of France. On three separate occasions, I had the opportunity to paint en plein air along the canals of France, capturing the beauty of the French countryside. In addition to those on-site sessions, I gathered hundreds of reference photos—visual notes that now serve as inspiration for studio work.
